Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced California-licensed litigation attorney to support a prominent insurance defense firm on a remote basis. This opportunity offers a chance to work with a highly regarded legal team in a dynamic and long-term capacity. The ideal candidate will be experienced in civil litigation and comfortable managing a high-volume caseload while delivering exceptional legal services in a remote environment.

Job Responsibility:

Assist with various aspects of civil litigation ranging from motion practice, discovery and document review and trial preparations, based on your level of expertise in a particular area
Conduct legal research and prepare well-reasoned legal memoranda
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
Manage deadlines and maintain a detailed calendar to ensure compliance with court rules and statutory requirements
Provide case strategy recommendations and work collaboratively with the legal team
Handle insurance defense matters, including cases involving personal injury, property damage, or other types of civil litigation

Requirements:

Active licensure to practice law in California
Minimum 1-5 years of civil litigation experience, with prior insurance defense experience preferred
Strong knowledge of California state court procedures and rules of evidence
Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines
Tech-savvy and proficient with litigation-related software tools, MS Office Suite, and case management systems
Ability to commit to a set schedule during PST hours, regardless of location
Must possess in-depth knowledge and experience in using legal software
Proficiency in using LexisNexis for legal research is mandatory
Should have hands-on experience with management systems in a legal setting
Should be adept at briefing, with a focus on clarity, conciseness, and precision
Extensive experience in civil litigation is required
Must have prior experience in claim administration, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Proven track record in complaint handling, showcasing excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills
Must possess excellent documentation skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and completeness
Must have the ability to draft motions that are clear, concise, and persuasive
Should be proficient in preparing discovery responses, displaying a capacity for thoroughness and timeliness
Must have experience in handling discovery requests, demonstrating a keen understanding of legal procedures and client confidentiality
Trial preparation expertise is essential, highlighting the ability to strategize, coordinate, and work under pressure
