Job Description:

Baxter is seeking a dedicated Research Associate focused on ICP-OES/MS techniques for our dynamic team in Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium. The role emphasizes analytical method development, innovation, and validation for products under development, with adherence to GMP and GDP standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Developing, evaluating, and validating analytical methods using ICP-OES/MS techniques for products under development
  • Crafting experiments, performing testing, and running various projects
  • Identifying risks and opportunities for innovation
  • Collecting information required for the analytical target profile for method development
  • Performing feasibility, development, and validation/transfer of analytical methods with a focus on ICP-OES and ICP-MS methods, including methods for elemental impurities determination
  • Providing support for initiatives in technological development, competitive product analysis, market and regulatory affairs questions, industrial troubleshooting, and other projects
  • Applying current physical, chemical, and physicochemical techniques in accordance with GMP and local procedures
  • Recording results according to established GDP procedures
  • Interpreting experimental data and presenting conclusions to supervisors, project leaders, and management
  • Adhering to quality system requirements and GMP and GDP standards
  • Writing comprehensive protocols and reports in English
  • Participating in investigations, change control impact assessments, and preparation of risk assessment reports in accordance with pharmaceutical guidelines
  • Contacting external partners as needed and following up on project progression

Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor degree with 5 years of related experience or advanced degree
  • Relevant laboratory/technical, writing, and computer skills
  • Analytical Chemistry: knowledge of ICP-OES & ICP-MS analytical techniques and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  • Experience on trace chemical analysis
  • Good technical knowledge on ICP-OES/MS techniques with previous experience on development, validations, or investigation on analytical methods
  • Proficiency in English
  • Operates in certified environments by aligning with quality systems in place
  • Objective assessment, organization, and clear communication of sophisticated information
  • Critical thinker and 'out of the box' thinking to identify and solve technical issues
  • Ownership for getting the job done, presenting with supervision and customers when facing issues, and proposing options to meet timelines or define new timelines
