The Revenue Cycle Associate will be involved in the company’s day-to-day revenue cycle management and accounts receivable operations to ensure timely and appropriate submission of health care claims and subsequent payment for services rendered.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure payments are collected timely and in full from payers, and perform appropriate accounts receivable follow-up for denied claims
make use of all available tools to efficiently identify reasons for non-payments and follow necessary steps for adjudication
collaborate with billing vendors and insurance companies to correct and refile claims
process and upload checks/electronic payments for cash posting
review and approve patient statements prior to mailing
analyze billing data to identify trends and create reports
interact with administrative staff and billing vendors to resolve questions
extract details from medical records to support billing and coding changes
reply to clinic inquiries via helpdesk ticketing system
contact payers for clarification on denials
work effectively within claim scrubbing software
complete assignments accurately and on time
maintain knowledge of collections, adjustments, and write-offs policies
exhibit strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills for payer issues like denials and underpayments
adapt to changing procedures and a growing environment
Requirements:
Experience in health care accounts receivable follow-up
exceptional customer service skills
good understanding of the claims revenue cycle
ability to read and interpret insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements
at least 2 years of working on coding denials and understanding of NCCI edits preferred
solid understanding of insurance guidelines and principles including COB, HIPAA, CPT, ICD-10, medical terminology, and managed care plans
time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
education minimum of Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s preferred
experience with Excel/Google Sheets preferred
CPB and/or CPC credentials are a plus
US work authorization
