The Sales Manager, GSO Japan provides dedicated support to a targeted portfolio of small- to mid-size GSO accounts. The primary focus of this position is to drive results – optimizing Marriott’s share of an account, business segment or region in order to achieve goals. Effectively present and sell all Marriott Lodging products that meet customer needs. Can work as a member of an account team on complex GSO accounts; assists in developing or develops and maintains goals and key strategies which lead to profitable revenue generation within the account, business segment or region. In the role of Sales Manager, GSO Japan, this position has direct accountability for select transactional sales activities within their assigned areas.
Job Responsibility:
Drive results by optimizing Marriott’s share of an account, business segment, or region
Effectively present and sell all Marriott Lodging products that meet customer needs
Work as a member of an account team on complex GSO accounts
Assist in developing or develop and maintain goals and key strategies for profitable revenue generation
Direct accountability for select transactional sales activities
Support the GSO vision and mission by leveraging Marriott’s products and services
Increase Marriott’s preference, loyalty, and profitable share within assigned accounts
Contribute to overall GSO success through direct sales efforts of Revenue Generation and Value Creation
Proactively manage account, segment, or regional sales
Qualify potential accounts and re-qualify existing accounts
Recommend Marriott products that match customer and hotel needs
Identify key purchase points and decision-makers
Develop opportunity sales plans
Demonstrate working knowledge of legal issues within the industry
Collect and analyze key customer information
Articulate financial benefits of proposals
Coordinate and implement strategic direction of accounts
Maintain account information in SFA
Support data gathering, reporting, and tracking functions
Represent all brands of Marriott Lodging
Focus on two-way communication to maintain win-win relationships
Negotiate terms and conditions, commitments, and customer issues
Ensure accurate, complete, and timely information to properties and customers
Proactively seek feedback from customers
Execute a consistent level of high-quality service
Establish and maintain relationships with multiple contacts in assigned accounts
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent strongly preferred
Native Japanese speaker or JLPT N1 equivalent
Speaks English
Strong sales management skills
Ability to qualify and re-qualify accounts
Knowledge of legal issues within the industry
Understanding of traditional industry processes (pricing, RFPs, proposals, etc)
Ability to collect and analyze key customer information
Ability to articulate financial benefits of proposals
Experience with team-based selling
Proficiency in maintaining account information in SFA
Ability to support data gathering, reporting, and tracking functions
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with multiple contacts in assigned accounts
