Job Description:

SEN Teaching Assistants are needed for a school specializing in supporting children aged 7-19 with autism spectrum conditions. The role involves 1:1 support, assistance with lessons, and promoting a safe and structured environment. The school offers exceptional facilities, small class sizes, and a nurturing atmosphere. Candidates should have a genuine passion for working with children with autism spectrum conditions and may also benefit from ongoing professional development opportunities.

Job Responsibility:

Provide support to students in the classroom
Collaborate with the class teacher for personalized learning plans
Support students with behaviour management and personal care
Promote safety and well-being
Participate in professional development and training

Requirements:

A valid DBS check
A full driving licence (preferred)
No GCSE in English and Maths required
Passion for working with children with autism spectrum conditions
Patient, caring, and enthusiastic about supporting learners
Experience working in education, children's homes, or EYFS (desirable)
Experience with Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECs) or other communication tools for non-verbal learners (desirable)
Experience with speech & language or BSL (desirable)

Nice to have:

Experience with speech & language therapy
Experience with managing challenging behaviour
Experience with PECs or BSL
Background in youth work
Resilience and adaptability
