Job Description:

A warm and welcoming SEN school in Soham is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team. You will play a vital role in supporting students with a diverse range of learning needs, assisting with their academic, social, and emotional development.

Job Responsibility:

Implement tailored learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher
adapt approach to meet individual needs
assist with personal care needs with respect and sensitivity
create a positive and stimulating learning environment
foster engagement, confidence, and a love of learning
communicate effectively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience

Requirements:

Strong verbal and written communication
ability to support positive behaviour strategies
manage challenging behaviour effectively
promote a safe and orderly learning environment
effective time management and ability to plan and deliver 1:1 and small group sessions
balancing administrative tasks
flexibility to respond to changing student needs
proactive approach to problem-solving
enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS)
complete Child Protection Training
promote and safeguard welfare of all children and young persons
