Job Description:

We are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with autism in a primary school in Leeds from April to July. This role is ideal for someone patient, nurturing, and experienced in supporting children with additional needs.

Job Responsibility:

Provide individualised support for a child with autism to help them access learning
Assist in developing social and communication skills in a structured and supportive way
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and interventions
Use visual aids, sensory strategies, and structured routines to support learning and behaviour
Encourage independence and confidence while ensuring the child's well-being
Monitor progress and adapt support as needed to meet the child's evolving needs
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

Experience working 1:1 with children with autism or other additional needs
Understanding of autism and effective strategies to support learning and social development
A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
