Job Description:

SEN Teaching Assistant role focused on supporting children with autism spectrum conditions. Opportunity to work in an exceptional ABA school located in stunning grounds, offering small class sizes and dedicated 1:1 support. Job Responsibility:

  • Provide support to students in the classroom
  • Assist teachers with lessons
  • Provide individualised support
  • Work closely with the teacher to implement personalized learning plans
  • Support students with a range of needs
  • Provide help with activities, behaviour management, and personal care as required
  • Create a positive and encouraging atmosphere
  • Promote a sense of safety, belonging, and well-being
  • Commit to ongoing professional development
  • Participate in training and qualifications, including QTS and HLTA opportunities

Requirements:

  • A valid DBS check
  • A full driving licence (preferred)
  • Genuine passion for working with children with autism spectrum conditions
  • Patient, caring, and enthusiastic about supporting learners
  • Experience working in education, children's homes, or EYFS (desirable)
  • Experience with Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECs) or other communication tools for non-verbal learners (desirable)
  • Experience with speech & language or BSL (desirable)

  • Term-time only contract
  • Competitive salary: £19,000 per year, rising to £20,500 after 2 years of successful service
