We are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join our exceptional school. The school offers innovative education for children aged 7-19 with autism spectrum conditions, small class sizes, and individualized learning plans. This role includes assisting teachers, creating positive learning environments, and supporting students' needs while promoting safety and well-being.
Job Responsibility:
Provide support to students in the classroom: Assist teachers with lessons, provide individualised support, and help create a positive learning environment
collaborate with the class teacher: Work closely with the teacher to implement personalized learning plans and ensure each student's needs are met
support students with a range of needs: Provide help with activities, behaviour management, and personal care as required
create a positive and encouraging atmosphere: Promote a sense of safety, belonging, and well-being
learn and grow: Committed to ongoing professional development and providing training and qualifications, including QTS and HLTA opportunities
Requirements:
A valid DBS check
a full driving licence (preferred)
genuine passion for working with children with autism spectrum conditions
patient, caring, and enthusiastic about supporting learners
experience working in education, children's homes, or EYFS (desirable)
experience with Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECs) or other communication tools for non-verbal learners (desirable)
experience with speech & language or BSL (desirable)

What we offer:
Term-time only contract
competitive salary £19,000 per year, rising to £20,500 after 2 years of successful service as a Senior TA
opportunity to work in the care setting for 16 hours per week during school holidays, adding an additional £2,000 to salary after 6 months
free transport from Guildford station (limited availability, with a cost involved)
