Job Description:

A multi-billion dollar financial services company located near Sayreville, NJ, is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. The candidate will be responsible for financial statement preparation, general ledgers, and analyzing financial transactions to ensure US GAAP compliance. The company offers fantastic benefits and great bonuses. It is a hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite, 2 days remote, and potentially fully remote once settled in.

Job Responsibility:

Supports general ledger processing
prepares and enters month end and other required journal entries
Responsible for completion of general ledger accounting trial balances on a monthly basis for assigned companies
Supports the preparation of consolidated and standalone financial statements, including footnotes and audit quality documentation
Reviews transaction classifications within general ledger chart of account and project subaccount structures
Reviews compliance of accounting and internal control procedures
Reviews accounts payable information for accuracy and completeness prior to entry in general ledger
Keeps accounting management informed on issues within assigned areas
Provides related financial and other information required by management
Completes assigned balance sheet account analysis
Responsible for cash management and compliance with project credit agreements
Prepares budget and forecasts
Responsible for accounting computer system maintenance

Requirements:

3+ plus years’ experience in the accounting field in corporate accounting or top tier public accounting firm
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
Advanced degree and/or CPA a plus
Some familiarity with US GAAP reporting requirements
Intermediate level business system computer skills including exposure to general ledger, and financial reporting packages
