Job Description:

Anna Parson at Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented, sharp Senior Accountant for a client in the Melville, NY area. The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, bank compliance, reconciling accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial analysis. Job Responsibility:

Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support
Assist in the month-end close process
Prepare account reconciliations, reduce account discrepancy, and implement corrective actions
Maintain general ledger and create journal entries as needed
Conduct inventory accounting reviews and ensure accuracy of information
Prepare timely and detailed reports for bank compliance reporting
Provide necessary support during audits
Participate in special projects assigned by management

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 3+ years experience in accounting
Proven expertise in performing month-end closing, account reconciliations, and inventory reviews
Strong knowledge of general ledger
familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Exceptional organizational skills and detail-oriented work practice
Clear written and verbal communication skills
