Job Description:

Handles complex social and local corporate catering opportunities. Provides supervision to catering sales associates. Contracts and closes local catering and social business. Achieves catering revenue goals by up-selling each business opportunity. Implements the brand’s service strategy and drives customer loyalty.

Job Responsibility:

Manages sales efforts for the property including local corporate and social catering
Responds to incoming catering opportunities
Identifies, qualifies, and solicits new catering business
Understands market conditions and competitors
Closes best opportunities
Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities
Works with management to create and implement catering sales plans
Designs, develops, and sells creative catered events
Maximizes revenue by up-selling packages
Develops and manages catering sales revenue and operation budgets
Assists with selling, implementation, and follow-through of catering promotions
Executes and supports Marriott’s Customer Service Standards
Participates in daily service basics of the brand
Monitors effective resolution of guest issues
Maintains successful performance by increasing revenues and controlling expenses
Provides day-to-day supervision to catering sales associates
Contracts and closes local catering and social business
Achieves catering revenue goals
Implements brand’s service strategy
Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
2 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional
OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
no work experience required
Preferred: 2 years of catering sales experience

Nice to have:

2 years of catering sales experience
