Baxter is seeking an experienced leader to manage global accounting projects and ESG reporting. This role involves collaboration across finance, audit, IT, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with public company regulations and emerging sustainability frameworks. Responsibilities include managing financial reports, internal controls, stakeholder communication, and systems integration while supporting Baxter's mission to improve healthcare worldwide.
Job Responsibility:
Monitor, analyze, and benchmark accounting, reporting and controls trends and best practices
Identify and manage complex global accounting projects
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for reporting initiatives
Lead, develop, and implement regulatory compliant reporting for complex accounting projects including ESG reporting
Conduct gap analysis for ESG compliance
Collaborate globally and cross-functionally to ensure compliance and data accuracy
Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on policies and process changes
Design, implement, and maintain internal controls for data and reports
Stay current with changes in global reporting requirements
Coordinate audits and liaise with external and internal auditors
Lead global audit processes including external ESG assurance audits
Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management and external stakeholders
Oversee alignment of legacy systems with reporting requirements
Work with IT to implement new software for tracking and compliance
Budget and forecast project-related compliance and reporting costs
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally with experience in public company reporting with an interest in emerging and evolving sustainability matters a plus
Project management experience with experience in financial reporting or technical accounting in a public company SOX compliant environment preferred
Demonstrated understanding of ESG reporting requirements, including EU CSRD, CS3D, Taxonomy and California SB253/SB261
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
with a CPA certification required
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to engage in ongoing training programs to stay current with new regulatory and reporting requirements
Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams in a highly matrixed environment
Experience in data management, collection and integration
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to have:
Interest in emerging and evolving sustainability matters
Experience with IT software for ESG tracking, reporting and compliance
