As a member of the Marriott International Procurement Team (MIP), the senior manager will focus on contributing to influencing the sourcing strategy for both food and non-food related commodities as well as developing and managing key vendor contract relationships for the region. The position will be responsible for identifying and developing effective supply chain partnership agreements to reduce cost and improve service conditions for all managed and participating franchise hotels, across all brands.
Job Responsibility:
Driving the procurement process for food and non-food concepts
Gathering and analyzing data, identifying high-volume spend materials and services
Utilizing data analysis to develop cost saving strategies
Consolidating existing vendor base to leverage volume and drive compliance to strategic partners
Monitoring market trends, price increases, and evaluating vendor performance
Conducting RFPs as necessary and determining best supply chain channel
Preparing tendering process protocols, vendor communications, reports, presentations, and detailed spread sheet analysis
Communicating regularly with hotels in the region UKI
Establishing and managing vendor partnerships for all major commodity categories
Conducting vendor inspections
Monitoring vendors reliability and establishing contact with prospective vendors
Constructing and maintaining tracking process for material and service contracts
Gathering usage data across multiple databases to forecast inventory needs
Constructing and maintaining tracking process for supplier performance and spend reports
Presenting supplier performance reports to region and MIP Europe leadership
Monitoring supplier performance against proposed financial incentives
Conducting performance reviews with supplier and driving customer participation in program
Assisting in the support of all affiliated properties across and various business functions across designated region
Supporting hotels on day-to-day basis by providing feedback on pricing, specifications, standards, etc.
Maintaining communications between company – affiliated hotels – continent offices
Conducting procurement audits in affiliated properties
Developing and providing communications of new contracts to the various hotels in the region UKI
Ensuring maximum leverage is obtained within the continent properties
Organizing Region UKI meetings to maximize leverage
Reinforcing grouping of leverage process wherever the local pre-conditions exist
Providing support, training, and development to Procurement Champions
Direct P&L responsibility of rebates for Region UKI
Requirements:
10+ years progressive experience in the lodging industry
Strong knowledge of the hotel market in the respective continent
Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
Good analysis skills essential must be able to utilize Excel to a very high level
Multi-tasking – ability to work on more than one project is essential
Pro-active and reliable
Attention to detail
Ability to direct and clearly communicate Purchasing Strategy to others
Strong contracting skills both in food and nonfood commodities
Ability to maintain hotel’s standards, policies and procedures
Ability to maintain positive and engaging relations with all inquiries
Knowledge of an E-Procurement Platform would be an advantage
College degree required
MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
