Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Duty & Assessment team at Telford and Wrekin Council. In this role, you will manage a complex caseload, conduct high-quality assessments, and provide expert evidence in court proceedings.

Job Responsibility:

Manage a caseload with varying levels of complexity, prioritizing the safety and well-being of children
Lead on complex safeguarding assessments, ensuring thorough and evidence-based practice
Provide expert testimony and evidence in court proceedings
Exercise high-quality judgment in challenging situations, demonstrating confidence and autonomy
Effectively assess situations, determine appropriate interventions, and anticipate potential outcomes
Integrate professional knowledge, service user perspectives, and research evidence into practice
Take initiative to broaden and deepen your repertoire of responses to complex cases
Maintain expertise in relevant areas of practice and actively participate in local and national resource networks

Requirements:

Proven experience managing complex social work caseloads, particularly in safeguarding and assessment
Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection
Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough and evidence-based assessments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and other professionals
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Registration with Social Work England
