Job Description:

We're looking for a skilled Shift Technician to join a dedicated team, working at the state-of-the-art Data Centre based in Farnborough. If you have a strong technical background and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect role for you! As a Shift Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the data centre systems. You will be part of a skilled team responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on critical infrastructure to ensure 100% uptime and efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems within the data centre
Respond to critical incidents, ensuring a swift resolution to minimize downtime
Monitor BMS (Building Management Systems) and other monitoring tools for any anomalies
Carry out proactive checks and maintenance on all critical infrastructure, including power distribution units (PDUs), UPS systems, and cooling systems
Ensure that all health and safety procedures are adhered to in line with company policies
Document all maintenance activities, incidents, and service reports
Work as part of a team in a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern (days/nights) to provide continuous coverage

Requirements:

Strong technical background with previous experience in a data centre or similar critical environment
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems
Experience with BMS and other monitoring systems
Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
Ability to work well under pressure and respond to incidents quickly and efficiently
A proactive approach to preventative maintenance
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
Flexibility to work in a 24/7 shift environment (4 on, 4 off)
Relevant qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, or Facilities Engineering (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
Health and Safety certification (desirable but not essential)
