Job Description:

A leading civil engineering firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Engineer to join our team on the critical earthworks package for the new bypass construction project for the Sizewell C nuclear power plant in Leiston. This is an opportunity to contribute to a project that will help accelerate the development of a vital energy infrastructure project for the UK.

Job Responsibility:

Play a crucial role in the successful execution of the earthworks package, ensuring adherence to project specifications, deadlines, and safety standards
Provide technical expertise and support to the construction team, ensuring adherence to project specifications, drawings, and safety protocols
Oversee setting out and leveling operations, ensuring accurate placement of structures and utilities within the earthworks
Monitor construction progress, identify potential issues related to excavation, fill, and compaction, and implement solutions to maintain project timelines and quality standards
Collaborate effectively with engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
Champion safety on the project, promoting a culture of awareness and ensuring adherence to the highest safety standards

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Site Engineer on large-scale highway or road construction projects, with a particular focus on earthworks
A strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations relevant to road construction, particularly in relation to earthworks
Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software for setting out and leveling operations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing challenges
A commitment to safety, with a proven ability to implement and uphold the highest safety standards
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK
