Make a Real Difference in Young Lives: Join Our Child Protection Team in Dumbarton. Are you a passionate and dedicated Social Worker committed to safeguarding vulnerable children and families? If so, we are seeking a motivated and resilient Social Worker to join our dynamic Child Protection Team based in Dumbarton. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive and experienced team, working collaboratively to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our community.

Job Responsibility:

  • Managing a complex caseload of children and families at risk of harm
  • Conducting thorough assessments and investigations in line with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Developing and implementing robust child protection plans in collaboration with families, partner agencies, and other professionals
  • Providing direct support and intervention to children and families, including home visits, individual work, and group work
  • Preparing and presenting reports for Child Protection Case Conferences, Children's Hearings, and court proceedings
  • Working effectively in a multi-agency setting, building strong relationships with health, education, police, and voluntary sector partners
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with data protection regulations
  • Participating in team meetings, supervision, and training to ensure continuous professional development.

Requirements:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW)
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Social Worker
  • Demonstrable experience of working within child protection services, including assessment, planning, and intervention
  • A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to child protection in Scotland
  • Excellent assessment and analytical skills with the ability to identify and evaluate risk
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and professionals
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a supportive team
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • A commitment to continuous professional development
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
