Job Responsibility:
Managing a complex caseload of children and families at risk of harm
Conducting thorough assessments and investigations in line with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
Developing and implementing robust child protection plans in collaboration with families, partner agencies, and other professionals
Providing direct support and intervention to children and families, including home visits, individual work, and group work
Preparing and presenting reports for Child Protection Case Conferences, Children's Hearings, and court proceedings
Working effectively in a multi-agency setting, building strong relationships with health, education, police, and voluntary sector partners
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with data protection regulations
Participating in team meetings, supervision, and training to ensure continuous professional development.
Requirements:
A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW)
Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Social Worker
Demonstrable experience of working within child protection services, including assessment, planning, and intervention
A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to child protection in Scotland
Excellent assessment and analytical skills with the ability to identify and evaluate risk
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and professionals
The ability to work autonomously and as part of a supportive team
Excellent report writing and presentation skills
A commitment to continuous professional development
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
