Job Description:

Middlesbrough Borough Council's Pathways Teams are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to supporting young people who are care-experienced and facing various challenges in their lives, empowering them to build fulfilling futures. You will work collaboratively with youth to develop support plans, provide guidance, offer advocacy, connect them with resources, and ensure their rights and well-being are protected.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of young people referred to the Pathways Teams, identifying their needs, strengths, and aspirations
  • Develop and implement individualised support plans, tailored to the specific needs of each young person
  • Provide direct support to young people through one-to-one sessions, group work, and community outreach
  • Facilitate life skills workshops, employment training, and other interventions designed to promote independence and well-being
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and organizations to ensure young people access a range of resources and services
  • Monitor progress, evaluate interventions, and make adjustments as needed
  • Advocate for the needs of young people, ensuring their rights and well-being are protected
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines
  • Participate in regular supervision, training, and professional development opportunities

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent)
  • Social Care England registration
  • Updated DBS check
  • Experience working with young people who are care-experienced, particularly those transitioning to adulthood
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance related to supporting care-experienced young people

  • Exceptional Salary: £40,476 - £42,708 per annum (with potential for higher salary based on experience - £46,547 - £49,114) plus a 15% market supplement, totaling up to £49,114
