Job Description:

Randstad is recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join Manchester City Council's Duty and Assessment Team as a Team Manager. The role involves leading and managing a team of Social Workers, overseeing statutory assessments, providing management oversight, and ensuring compliance with practices such as Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act 1989. Hybrid working and a fantastic pay rate of £45 per hour are offered.

Job Responsibility:

Lead and manage a team of Social Workers, ensuring high standards of practice in frontline assessments and safeguarding
Oversee statutory assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act 1989, ensuring timely and effective decision-making
Provide management oversight, guidance, and supervision to support Social Workers in complex child protection and safeguarding cases
Ensure the team responds efficiently to referrals, conducting thorough risk assessments and working in a multi-agency framework
Chair strategy discussions, case reviews, and team meetings, promoting a culture of learning and development
Work closely with partner agencies, including health, police, and education, to ensure a coordinated safeguarding response
Monitor performance, quality assurance, and compliance, ensuring that statutory timescales and best practice are met
Support staff development and retention, creating a positive team environment that encourages professional growth

Requirements:

Social Work England registered
Social Work Degree or equivalent
Enhanced DBS
