Job Description:

Circle K is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead development teams working on a cutting-edge solution to revolutionize Circle K retail operations globally. The role involves contributing to software strategy, leading teams, managing software projects, and ensuring alignment with business goals. The position requires a highly collaborative and self-driven leader with experience in agile software development and team leadership.

Job Responsibility:

  • Contribute to the Software Strategy (respective business area) and the organization’s innovation effort, agile transformation and roadmap to establish regional capabilities
  • Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on business goals, progress and deliverables
  • Manage expectations from the Business Stakeholders
  • Show clear direction to grow the software organization
  • Deliver results and value to Circle K business through quality software products
  • Lead up to 24 people who develop and maintain software
  • Foster business-oriented culture and mindset in the organization
  • Closely cooperate with the team, present them the growth directions as well as goals to be reached
  • Know and practice performance management
  • Build the team determined on delivering business outcome, agility, collaboration, teamwork and accountability
  • Participate in defining technical solutions as a discussion partner for Architects and Developers
  • Ensure the overall success of software projects and programs he/she is in charge for to deliver with agreed business objectives
  • Contribute to development and lead roll-out of global software solutions
  • Be accountable for performance, governance and security of the application portfolio
  • Collaborate closely with Operations Team in terms of developing ways to collect and control annual budget within own scope
  • Manage business and financial impacts of the technical decisions
  • Identify and deliver cost reduction initiatives
  • Follow up KPIs and ensure regular and consistent reporting of progress against goals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, information systems, related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience of leading software development team (20+ employees)
  • 3+ years of experience with lean-agile software development and DevOps culture
  • Very good knowledge of scrum, and deep understanding of agile values
  • 7+ years of hands on software development experience
  • Knowledge of SAFe is an additional value
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Experience in Vendor Management in software area
  • Have experience in working as a part of global and distributed organization
  • Be able to manage risk and uncertainty, establish good governance and work systematically with security and stability in dynamically growing environment
  • Be a strong leader focused on individuals development, constructive feedback on support for the team
  • Have experience in leading regional teams, insourced and outsourced resources
  • Be “the bridge” between technical teams (software developers, solution architects) and the business interlocutors
  • Have expertise in budget planning and financial management
  • Have collaborative approach, agile mindset and be a team player
  • Present strong business acumen, customer centric approach with great problem solving skills and high accountability
  • Be able to build consensus, making decisions based on many variables, and gain support for major initiatives
  • Be active listener, with solid presentation and communication skills
  • Optimistic, openminded, problem solver, able to create “safe experimental environment” for the team
  • Have strong sense of self, ethics and effort, as well as the willingness to go the extra mile to achieve important goals
