Job Description:

Our Austin-based client is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in Node.js and TypeScript to join our development team. In this role you will design, develop, and maintain server-side applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient server-side applications using Node.js and TypeScript
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with backend logic
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards
  • Build and manage RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
  • Implement and maintain automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes
  • Optimize application performance for speed and scalability
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring the reliability and stability of applications
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions that meet business needs
  • Stay current with new trends, technologies, and best practices in software development

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Software Engineer or Backend Developer with a focus on Node.js and TypeScript
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), Node.js, and TypeScript
  • Experience with building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
  • Familiarity with asynchronous programming, event-driven architectures, and concurrency patterns
  • Experience working with databases (SQL/NoSQL) such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar
  • Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience

Nice to have:

Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
