Job Description:

Our Austin-based client is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in Node.js and TypeScript to join our development team. In this role you will design, develop, and maintain server-side applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.

Job Responsibility:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient server-side applications using Node.js and TypeScript
Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with backend logic
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards
Build and manage RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
Implement and maintain automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes
Optimize application performance for speed and scalability
Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring the reliability and stability of applications
Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions that meet business needs
Stay current with new trends, technologies, and best practices in software development

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Software Engineer or Backend Developer with a focus on Node.js and TypeScript
Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), Node.js, and TypeScript
Experience with building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
Familiarity with asynchronous programming, event-driven architectures, and concurrency patterns
Experience working with databases (SQL/NoSQL) such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar
Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in teams
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience

Nice to have:

Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
