Responsibilities include meal preparation, menu planning, kitchen management, stock control, and upholding health and safety standards. Job Responsibility:
prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold meals
collaborate with the Head Chef to plan menus
manage day-to-day kitchen operations
maintain accurate records of food supplies and temperatures
ensure proper stock rotation and assist in ordering supplies
uphold statutory Health & Safety standards
ensure crockery and equipment are cleaned and stored properly
oversee cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
Requirements:
City & Guilds 706 – 1 & 2, or equivalent qualification
ability to work effectively within a team
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
good communication skills
ability to work independently and take the lead in the kitchen when the Head Chef isn’t available
experience in preparing food tailored to the specific needs of residents
experience working in a care environment is beneficial but not essential
