Job Description:

The Sr Mobile Trailer Technician will be responsible for performing certified DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and advanced repairs, and other duties as assigned such as aluminum and chem-lite, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, brake chambers, welding, fabrication, replacement of panels, body and framework. Work performed at the customer's site. Heavily relied upon for advanced diagnostics and triage of complicated repairs by Mobile Trailer Technician I/II. Considered the Lead on jobsites by customers and Technicians. Functions as a consultant on the customer's behalf.

Job Responsibility:

Perform certified DOT inspections
Perform Preventative Maintenance inspections
Perform light and advanced repairs
Aluminum and chem-lite, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, brake chambers, welding, fabrication, replacement of panels, body and framework
Diagnose, adjust, and perform repairs on various types of trailer equipment and systems
Assist Mobile Trailer Technician I with diagnostics
Support Mobile Trailer Technicians I & II in inventory reconciliation
Advise Mobile Trailer Technicians I & II on Technical issues

Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field
Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months
Obtain 608/609 certification within eighteen (18) months
DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment
Valid state-of-residence driver’s license
Safe drivers needed and 3 YR MVR review required

Nice to have:

ASE T2 (Diesel Engines) certification
ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification
ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems)
ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
ASE A8 (Engine Performance) certification
ASE L1 (Advanced Engine Performance Specialist)
ASE L2 (Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis Specialist) certification
