Job Description:

We are in search of a Sr. Accountant, Payroll to join our team in the retail industry, based in Jacksonville, Florida. This role involves a range of responsibilities, including the processing and analysis of payroll accounting activities, as well as the upkeep of a strong financial controls environment.

Job Responsibility:

Conduct thorough analysis, reporting, and reconciliation of accounting activity on a regular basis
Play a pivotal role in the month-end close process, including the creation of various journal entries, accruals, and estimates
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and flux analysis specifically for payroll accounts
Execute complex calculations related to accounting estimates
Collaborate with external auditors during quarterly and annual audit requests
Ensure compliance with SOX processes and maintain a strong financial controls environment
Drive process improvement initiatives and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk
Utilize advanced spreadsheet skills to manage large volumes of data effectively
Work both independently and within a team environment, making well-reasoned and timely decisions

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Retail industry
Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Experience with month end close procedures
Familiarity with Oracle Fusion software
Proven ability to handle payroll transactions effectively and accurately
