Job Description:

We are offering an exciting opportunity in the education industry in Miami Gardens, Florida, for a Sr. Accountant. The selected candidate will be instrumental in supporting the Controller and Director of Accounting in daily accounting operations.

Job Responsibility:

Efficient and detail-oriented execution of accounting and analytical duties
Proficient use of ERP financial systems
Regular communication with all department budget officers and personnel
Completion of routine and ad hoc financial reporting
Significant participation in year-end close and audits
Managing the inventory of fixed assets and overseeing capital and construction accounting policies and procedures
Recording and reconciling payroll and fringe benefits
Maintaining the vendor database, including updating and entering new vendors
Assisting with the daily bank cash position report and bank reconciliations
Serving on University committees as requested
Complying with departmental and University safety rules and regulations

Requirements:

Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
Experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations
Strong understanding of General Ledger management
Ability to handle Journal Entries
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Experience with Month End Close procedures
Experience with Financial Edge software is a plus

Experience with Financial Edge software
