Job Description:

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the Government industry, based in North Charleston, South Carolina. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be instrumental in preparing financial records, handling federal funding, and undertaking auditing responsibilities. Your role will also include supporting special financial projects and maintaining accuracy in capital projects, fixed assets, and new lease software systems.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and present financial statements in a timely and accurate manner
Oversee and manage federal funding reporting, ensuring compliance with government regulations
Perform audits on various projects, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective measures
Assist the Director of Finance in executing special projects and preparing financial reports
Maintain accurate records for capital projects, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded
Manage fixed assets accounting, ensuring their proper valuation and depreciation
Oversee the new lease software system, ensuring its efficient operation and accurate accounting
Perform account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations regularly
Manage general ledger entries and month-end close procedures
Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting
Carry out grant accounting duties, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of grant funds

Requirements:

Proficient in Account Reconciliation
Demonstrated experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Ability to effectively perform Bank Reconciliations
Solid understanding of General Ledger management
Experience in preparing and analyzing Journal Entries
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and reporting
Capable of executing Month End Close procedures
Knowledge and experience in Grant Accounting within a government context
