Job Description:

An exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant to join a manufacturing company and lead key accounting functions. The role involves collaboration with managers, the President, and third-party auditors to ensure robust internal controls and timely audits within a dynamic environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Handle the daily administration of accounting activities
  • oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Credit Card, and Cash postings
  • manage the monthly closing process and prepare financial statements following GAAP
  • contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting functions and processes
  • maintain internal controls over company assets
  • reconcile and classify general ledger accounts accurately
  • ensure GAAP-compliant financial statements/reporting
  • record Lease Obligations
  • coordinate the annual Physical Inventory process
  • support annual and quarterly planning/forecasting processes
  • manage financial systems and assist users with ticket resolution
  • liaise with IT Third Party Administrator to ensure secure IT systems.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
  • experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation
  • ability to perform Bank Reconciliations
  • proficient in managing the General Ledger
  • strong skills in Microsoft Excel
  • capable of handling Month End Close activities
  • knowledge of Costing principles
  • experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting
  • proficiency in Financial Reporting
  • ability to make Adjusting Journal Entries
  • experience in managing Fixed Assets, including calculation of depreciation and monitoring asset utilization.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with GAAP
  • advocacy for accurate product job-costing
  • ability to coordinate the annual Physical Inventory process
  • knowledge of planning/forecasting processes
  • experience with third-party IT administrators.
