Job Description:

This is a Sr. Accountant opportunity in an organization that has been in the Baltimore area for decades and is very stable. In this role, you will be working in the accounting industry, focusing on various accounting functions, financial reporting, and analysis for assigned programs. The ideal candidate will be a strong GL accountant who is happy to learn multiple parts of the business and learn aspects of various roles to be a well-rounded employee.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure accurate and efficient processing of monthly journal entries related to transactional accounting
Take charge of reconciling assigned general ledger accounts and coordinating the collection of all balance sheet account work papers monthly
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis with explanations
Develop and maintain financial reports using accounting software and spreadsheets
Support the budgeting process by compiling data as required
Learn aspects of multiple roles to assist in those areas when needed
Assist with all aspects of year-end audit and IRS reporting

Requirements:

Degree in Accounting or related field
Must possess strong skills in Account Reconciliation
Proficient in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately and efficiently
Deep understanding of General Ledger operations
GAAP
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Experienced in Month End Close procedures
Experience with Prepaid Account management
