Job Description:

We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the retail industry, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The candidate will be tasked with various responsibilities including preparing and reviewing financial documents, maintaining accurate records, and working collaboratively with different internal teams.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and review financial statements and journal entries as part of the month-end closing process
Conduct balance sheet and income statement account variance analysis, investigating significant changes in business trends
Take ownership of financial data, focusing on understanding the underlying narratives
Collaborate with the Treasury team to provide proof of cash and borrowing base schedules
Prepare schedules and conduct testing related to SOX controls and external audit requests
Coordinate with the IT team on system maintenance, process issues, and project implementation
Document and maintain revenue-related sub-processes and standard operating procedures
Work collaboratively with various business partners (Accounting, Treasury, Stores, Asset Protection, Store Operations, IT) to answer questions and improve current processes
Develop partnerships with internal business leaders and vendors to add value through services, analyses, and information sharing
Assist with the implementation of new software and technology solutions

Requirements:

Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
Mastery of Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Experience with Bank Reconciliations
Familiarity with the General Ledger
Proficiency in creating Journal Entries
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Experience with Month End Close processes
Proficient in using Workday ERP
Experience with Oracle Inventory
Knowledge of Oracle SQL
Proficiency in SQL
