Job Description:

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Sr. Financial Analyst to join our team in Portland, Oregon. The role focuses on operational finance activities including financial planning, policy-making, accounting practices, and reporting. Responsibilities include cost accounting, financial forecasting, analysis, and due diligence activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Job Responsibility:

  • Implement and monitor procedures for cost control to enhance operational efficiency
  • Conduct comprehensive cost reporting, including direct materials, labor, and overhead, to identify cost trends and budget variances
  • Guide and train entry level accounting staff on principles and practices of cost accounting
  • Collaborate with operational teams to develop detailed cost budgets and forecasts
  • Lead and develop new processes to match the transition to JDE ERP
  • Participate in the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring accurate cost accounting records and compliance with accounting standards
  • Analyze manufacturing equipment utilization and pinpoint areas for improvement
  • Provide financial analysis and support for strategic decision-making
  • Work closely with production, procurement, and sales teams to understand cost drivers and identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records of raw material inventory, work in progress, and finished goods inventory, including physical inventory counts

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in business systems
  • Experience with Confluence
  • Proficient in CRM applications
  • Familiarity with Crystal Reports
  • Knowledge of data mining techniques
  • Ability to use About Time software
  • Understands accounting functions
  • Proficiency in auditing
  • Familiarity with budget processes
  • Understanding of capital management
  • Experience in cost analysis
  • Ability to handle job cost
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Experience in manufacturing cost accounting
  • Proficiency in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
