Job Description:

As a Sr. Principal Engineer at Baxter, you will play a critical role in resolving complex engineering problems, leading cross-functional teams, managing resources, and driving cost-saving projects within a regulated medical product environment.

Job Responsibility:

Act independently with minimal supervision to lead global cross-functional teams supporting large cost-saving projects
provide program updates and conduct reviews with all levels of management
conduct assessments to evaluate the value stream for projects and build business cases
lead large-scale change controls associated with cost-saving projects
develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress
prepare necessary technical protocols and reports
perform root cause investigations for technical problems
perform basic statistical analysis and interpret functional testing results
embrace accountability for critical decisions and deliverables
utilize creative thinking and teamwork to resolve conflicts/drive rapid decision-making
provide technical direction and mentoring to entry-level engineers.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or Project Management experience
5+ years of work experience
excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to interface well with other departments and lead effectively and efficiently in a team environment
experience with medical products or in a regulated environment is preferred
experience in one or more of the following disciplines is preferred: project management, compatibility and comparability studies, formulation experience, filtration experience/expertise, terminal sterilization (Steam/Gamma/eBeam), plastics expertise (PVC, polycarbonates, etc.), packaging engineering, transport validation
must be well versed in Project Management tools and must possess knowledge of related disciplines
strong quantitative and qualitative assessment skills and critical thinking skills in support of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience
must demonstrate strategic leadership, strong business acumen, and proficient supervisory skills, if applicable
ability to manage multiple cross-functional teams simultaneously
PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification will be given preference.

Nice to have:

experience with medical products or in a regulated environment
experience in filtering, terminal sterilization techniques, plastics expertise, packaging engineering, or transport validation
PMP Certification.
