Job Description:

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. Job Responsibility:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies
Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely processing of transactions
Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow tracking
Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and supporting documentation for management
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights into financial performance
Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to support audit preparation and compliance efforts
Identify areas for process improvement and assist in implementing efficiency-driven solutions

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle)
Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
Familiarity with financial statement preparation and general ledger functions
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
