Job Description:

We are actively searching for a Staff Accountant to join our team, located in Reading, Pennsylvania. In this position, you will be tasked with maintaining comprehensive accounting records, producing regular reports, and ensuring adherence to established accounting principles.

Job Responsibility:

  • Handle the posting, validation, and processing of accounts payable transactions, including batch payment preparation
  • Ensure accurate and complete entries are posted to the general ledger and verify and balance general ledger accounts
  • Manage accounts receivable transactions through auditing, posting, making necessary adjustments, and corrections
  • Conduct diligent follow-ups on customer accounts, including credit issuances and collection activities
  • Assist with the processing of weekly hourly payroll and maintain accounting and payroll files and backup documentation
  • Collaborate in the preparation of month-end closings of the financials for the plant
  • Issue daily reports on financial matters, discrepancies, or irregularities as assigned
  • Provide general administrative support, including file organization and retrieval, copying materials, and electronic or fax correspondence
  • Respond to corporate requests and cyclical filings, maintaining a follow-up system to ensure timely submission of requirements

Requirements:

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role
  • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
  • Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately and efficiently
  • Familiarity with General Ledger operations and maintenance
  • Experience in recording and analyzing Journal Entries
  • Proficiency in using Oracle financial software
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
