Job Description:

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records for daily operations. Your responsibilities will include reviewing, analyzing, reconciling, and updating financial statements and management reports. The Staff Accountant is based onsite at corporate headquarters in Herndon, VA. Job Responsibility:

Verification of Journal Entries: Examine and assess journal entries submitted by operational staff to ensure their accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness within established accounting standards
Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations to maintain accurate and up-to-date balance sheet accounts
Fixed Asset Accounting: Manage fixed asset records, including updates and documentation for both book and tax purposes
Internal Reporting: Prepare and review management reports for internal stakeholders, ensuring information is clear, reliable, and timely
Collaboration with Teams: Engage with operations staff to gather explanations and supporting materials for account activity and balances as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
Proven ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and focus on details
Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear and effective interactions
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data management
Practical experience with general ledger management and account reconciliation tasks
