Job Description:

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client in Hayward, CA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven nonprofit organization while ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit accounting, proficiency in Tyler Munis or Eden software, and a strong understanding of financial reporting standards.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports in compliance with nonprofit accounting standards
Reconcile accounts, process invoices, and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate transactions
Assist with budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support informed decision-making
Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and industry best practices
Utilize Tyler Munis or Eden software to process transactions, maintain financial records, and generate reports
Collaborate with internal departments to address financial inquiries and provide financial insights to leadership
Assist with the preparation of financial statements, grant reporting, and audits
Participate in special projects, process improvements, and system implementations as required

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or construction/manufacturing environment
Proficiency in Tyler Munis or Eden software for financial processing and reporting
Strong knowledge of nonprofit financial reporting, fund accounting, and grant compliance
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with financial software
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Nice to have:
