Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience in general accounting and will support key financial operations, including account reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end close activities. This role offers the unique opportunity to work closely with our FP& A team, gaining exposure to budgeting and forecasting processes.

Job Responsibility:

Perform accurate and timely account reconciliations, ensuring alignment with company policies and standards
Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
Assist with month-end close activities, including variance analysis and reporting
Reconcile cash accounts to ensure proper recording of all transactions
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and answering queries
Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting processes and procedures
Collaborate with the FP& A team on budgeting and forecasting efforts to ensure accuracy and alignment with financial goals.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the energy or midstream sector
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
