Job Description:

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a growing company in San Marcos, CA. In this role, you will support the accounting team with various financial tasks and ensure the company’s books are accurate and up-to-date. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled accounting professional looking to build a strong career foundation.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards
Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements and fixed assets
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes and generate financial reports
Handle accounts payable/receivable processes, including invoice approvals and payment processing
Support audits by providing requested documentation and assisting in audit preparation activities
Perform variance analysis and contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts
Assist with payroll processing and tax filings when necessary

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
2+ years of general accounting experience
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and strong Microsoft Excel skills
Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and procedures
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and discrepancies
