Job Description:

The role primarily revolves around processing customer credit applications, maintaining accurate customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. Job Responsibility:

  • Act as a point of contact for financial inquiries from landlords and clients
  • Process and review invoices accurately and promptly for payment
  • Perform reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure precise recordkeeping
  • Prepare and post journal entries in line with accounting standards
  • Manage cash transfers and maintain detailed records of all transactions
  • Review and prepare financial statements and related reports critically
  • Stay updated with current accounting principles and practices and apply them accordingly
  • Identify and address discrepancies or issues within financial data, or escalate when necessary
  • Collaborate with auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during audits
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines
  • Handle accounts receivable tasks, including billing and collections
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets for financial analysis and reporting
  • Analyze data and provide insights to aid decision-making within the finance department
  • Communicate effectively with internal staff to resolve issues and provide financial support
  • Exhibit excellent time-management and organizational skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately
  • Assist the Finance Manager with tasks and other job functions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role
  • Proven expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform Bank Reconciliations
  • Proficient in maintaining and managing the General Ledger
  • Experience with Journal Entries and Month End Close processes
  • Familiarity with MRI Software is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is preferred
  • Certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus but not mandatory
