Job Description:

We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant at our location in Murrels Inlet, South Carolina, 29576, United States. As part of our team, the Staff Accountant will be involved in a variety of financial operations, including accounts payable, payroll, general ledger work, and monthly close procedures.

Job Responsibility:

Accurately process accounts payable transactions
Manage payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Maintain and update the general ledger as necessary
Assist with month-end close procedures, including bank reconciliations and journal entries
Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly
Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions as needed
Maintain accurate records of all customer credit applications
Learn and adapt to the company's processes and systems, including QuickBooks
Gain exposure to construction accounting, although prior experience in this area is not necessary
Gradually assume the responsibilities of the current accountant

Requirements:

Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
Experience in performing bank reconciliations
Demonstrated ability in managing general ledger
Proficient in making journal entries
Demonstrated experience in month end close procedures
Proficiency in QuickBooks software
Familiarity with construction industry
Experience in construction accounting
Skilled in payroll management
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Detail oriented certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus
