At CVS Health, Staff Pharmacists play a crucial role in improving patient health, ensuring accurate prescription fulfillment, managing inventory, and providing compassionate care. The job involves supporting the Pharmacy Manager, delivering immunizations, complying with industry standards and practices, and staying updated on clinical knowledge.
Job Responsibility:
Helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Overseeing the pharmacy as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager without overlap
Contributing to pharmacy performance measures through coaching and feedback
Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Providing compassionate care and resolving insurance or medication issues
Delivering immunizations to patients and coaching the pharmacy team to do the same
Managing pharmacy inventory effectively
Ensuring pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
Maintaining clinical and technical skills through training and education
Supporting pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services
Complying with all relevant federal and state laws, professional standards, and ethical principles.
Requirements:
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
Ability to actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Ability to respond appropriately to patients’ reactions and needs
Use and understand verbal and written communication
Ability to perform mathematical tasks such as determining quantities and days' supply
Ability to identify challenging interactions and determine the best resolution
Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs., and perform repetitive movements.
Nice to have:
1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require.
