The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for managing the pharmacy and improving patient health through safe dispensing and coaching. The role includes fulfilling managerial duties, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, providing immunizations, maintaining technical and clinical skills, and contributing to patient outcomes through clinical care.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Oversee pharmacy performance measures by coaching and consistent follow-up
Fulfill Pharmacy Manager’s duties as the primary pharmacist-on-duty
Support safe prescription fulfillment and workflow procedures
Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
Manage pharmacy inventory effectively
Deliver immunizations to patients
Maintain clinical and technical skills
Expand knowledge to better support patients
Improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care
Follow federal and state laws, regulations, and ethical principles
Comply with CVS Health policies
Support workplace safety and inclusiveness.
Requirements:
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Actively look for ways to help people
Notice and understand patients’ reactions and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication
Utilize active listening
Ability to use math to solve a problem
Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
Lift, scan, and bag items

1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
