As a Staff Pharmacist at CVS Health, you will help fulfill prescriptions, deliver immunizations, manage inventory, and oversee the pharmacy team during shifts. The role includes maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, assisting patients in navigating the pharmacy process, and contributing to a compassionate and inclusive team culture.
Job Responsibility:
Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Overseeing the pharmacy as a proxy in absence of the Pharmacy Manager, including supporting and coaching team members
Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by complying with pharmacy workflow procedures
Delivering compassionate care and proactively addressing patient insurance or medication concerns
Offering and delivering immunizations
Managing pharmacy inventory following best practices like protecting cold chain products
Ensuring compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and appropriate federal laws
Remaining flexible for scheduling needs and contributing to a safe and inclusive workplace
Maintaining clinical skills through training and continuous learning
Supporting pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible
Ensuring patient safety by following CVS Health policies regarding controlled substances, privacy, and workplace security.
Requirements:
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
Actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients’ reactions, and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
Utilize active listening by giving full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Ability to use math to solve a problem, such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense, day’s supply, and/or number of full bottles and additional bottles needed to fill a prescription
Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action when faced with multiple options
Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
