The Staff Pharmacist role is essential to supporting pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, providing patient care, and managing inventory. This position involves dispensing medications, offering immunizations, coaching pharmacy team members, and enhancing the patient experience through compassionate care.
Job Responsibility:
Living our purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Overseeing the pharmacy as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager during bench shifts
Strengthening pharmacy performance measures through coaching and follow-ups
Supporting accurate prescription fulfillment and directing the pharmacy team
Contributing to positive patient experiences by demonstrating compassionate care and resolving issues
Offering and delivering immunizations proactively
Supporting the management of pharmacy inventory and ensuring compliance with best practices
Partnering with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure pharmacy operations comply with regulations
Assisting the Pharmacy Manager with tasks like writing the pharmacy schedule
Maintaining clinical and technical skills to support patients
Following all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
Requirements:
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients’ reactions and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
Utilize active listening skills
Ability to use math to solve problems like calculating total tablets to dispense or days' supply
Identifying challenging interactions and choosing the best course of action
Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
Lift, scan, and bag items
Reach overhead or stretch to position and lift items
Move fingers repetitively for tasks like typing
Adjust machines to exact positions
Stoop to move items between low and high positions
Close visual acuity for transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and other tasks
Frequently lift or exert up to 10 lbs, occasionally up to 20 lbs.
Nice to have:
1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require.
