The Staff Pharmacist role at CVS Health involves supporting the Pharmacy Manager in all pharmacy operations and acting as a role model within the team. Responsibilities include managing prescription fulfillment, providing patient-centric care, delivering immunizations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting pharmacy inventory and operations.
Job Responsibility:
Helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Overseeing pharmacy operations during bench shifts without overlap
Strengthening pharmacy performance measures through coaching and follow-up
Supporting prescription fulfillment by adhering to workflow procedures
Contributing to positive patient experiences through empathy and resolving issues
Offering and delivering immunizations
Managing pharmacy inventory effectively
Ensuring compliance with Board of Pharmacy regulations
Writing the pharmacy schedule as needed
Maintaining clinical and technical skills through training and CMEs
Providing pharmacist-delivered clinical care services
Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, CVS policies, and patient safety standards.
Requirements:
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients’ reactions and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
Utilize active listening skills
Ability to use math to solve pharmacy-related problems
Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action
Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods
Lift, scan, and bag items
Reach overhead and stretch arms
Perform repetitive finger movements
Perform precise machine adjustments
Stoop to move items between low and high positions
