Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Multi Skilled Engineer to join our team at Birtley. This is a multi-skilled role, requiring someone who can turn their hand to all trades and carry out a variety of maintenance tasks across the site. The ideal candidate will have an Electrical or Mechanical Qualification and previous experience working in large distribution centres.

Job Responsibility:

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) - Conducting regular inspections and servicing of depot assets to ensure efficient operation and prevent breakdowns
Reactive Maintenance & Repairs - Responding to breakdowns and faults, diagnosing issues, and completing both first-fix and permanent repairs to a high standard
Electrical & Mechanical Work - Maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards
General Facilities Maintenance - Carrying out minor plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance where required
Working at Height & in Confined Spaces - Completing repairs and inspections in hard-to-reach areas using the appropriate safety equipment
Lone & Team Working - Operating independently and as part of a team to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently
On-Call Duties- Covering emergency breakdowns ensuring the site remains operational outside of standard hours
Health & Safety Compliance - Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations and site procedures

Requirements:

Must have a relevant Electrical or Mechanical Qualification (NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical)
18th Edition
Testing and inspection
Previous experience working in large distribution centres
Physically fit due to the varied and demanding nature of the role
A hands-on, multi-skilled professional who can adapt to all types of maintenance work
Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills in both electrical and mechanical systems
