Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced System Administrator with expertise in PACS/DICOM image transfers, cloud connectivity, and on-prem server troubleshooting. The role involves diagnosing and resolving an issue where a medical office’s on-prem PACS server in Clearwater, FL, is not receiving X-ray images from a cloud-based PACS system hosted on AWS. The provider successfully uploads images, but they fail to arrive.

Job Responsibility:

Diagnose and resolve issues with PACS/DICOM image transfers from AWS to an on-prem server
Analyze network configurations, firewalls, VPNs, and security settings to ensure proper connectivity
Work with PACS vendors and cloud providers to identify and fix data transmission failures
Verify that server settings, storage, and DICOM listeners are correctly configured
Troubleshoot AWS security group rules, firewall settings, and port forwarding to enable seamless transfers
Monitor system logs to pinpoint where failures occur and implement solutions
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and medical data security best practices

Requirements:

3+ years of experience in System Administration, PACS/DICOM support, Healthcare IT
Strong knowledge of PACS systems, DICOM protocols, and medical imaging workflows
Experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues (firewalls, VPNs, TCP/IP, ports)
Familiarity with AWS cloud environments, security groups, and data transfer troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with Windows or Linux server administration
Ability to collaborate with vendors, IT teams, and end-users to resolve technical issues
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Nice to have:

Experience working with PACS software such as GE Centricity, Merge, Fuji, or similar
Certifications in Networking (CCNA), Cloud (AWS Certified), or Healthcare IT (CHP, RHCE)
Prior experience in healthcare IT environments handling secure medical data
