Job Description:

Looking to transition out of public accounting? I'm working with a large real estate developer, investor and property management company who is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team. Job Responsibility:

Reviewing trial balances and preparation of accounting adjustments as needed to comply with tax accounting
Reading lease agreements to determine proper accounting treatment
Analyzing expenditures to determine proper capitalization under tax law
Tracing interest
Maintaining depreciation schedules
Partnership allocations
Preparing workpapers as needed to support the Tax accounting
Federal, state and property tax return preparation
Form 1065 Partnerships (90% of tax preparation will be for Partnerships)
Form 1041 Trusts
Form 1040 Individual
Form 1120 Corporations
Personal property tax returns
Add 1120S S Corporations
Preparation of tax projections
Special projects to support accounting functions as needed
Use of various software applications
Excel, Word
Yardi general ledger
CCH Global Fx – income tax preparation software
CCH ProSystem Fx Fixed Assets
CCH ProSystem Fx Workpaper Manager

Requirements:

Degree in Accounting, Finance & related area of study
1+ year of public accounting (tax) experience OR large company corporate tax experience (will also consider new grads with tax internships)
Experience with Partnership tax (1065)
Strong experience working with work papers
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Preferred experience with CCH / Prosystem Fx
Accounting skills to include creating/making entries in the trial balance
