Job Description:

A school in Leeds is seeking a dedicated Teacher of English for a full-time role after Easter 2025. The position involves teaching KS3 and KS4 students, delivering engaging lessons, fostering a love for literature, and supporting critical literacy and analytical skills. Job Responsibility:

Plan
prepare
and deliver engaging English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
Develop student's literacy
critical thinking
and analytical skills
Differentiate lessons to cater to varied learning styles and abilities
Use assessment data to track student progress and inform teaching strategies
Foster a love for reading and writing among students
Encourage classroom discussions to develop student's verbal reasoning skills
Develop student's exam and essay-writing skills
Organise and support extracurricular activities such as writing clubs or drama performances
Promote a growth mindset and a resilient attitude in students
Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students

Requirements:

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification
Eligibility to work in the UK
An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Excellent subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
