Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and supportive SEN school in the Knowsley area. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential for a permanent contract, offering an exceptional opportunity for personal and professional growth.

Job Responsibility:

Provide tailored 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEN, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, and emotional or behavioural challenges
Assist students with personal care as needed
Foster positive relationships with pupils to help them regulate their emotions and build self-esteem
Support students who may be behind in their academic work, providing extra assistance to help them succeed
Complete progress reports to track student development
Handle challenging situations calmly, maintaining a positive learning environment

Requirements:

Previous experience working in an educational setting, particularly with children who have SEN
A patient, resilient, and empathetic nature
Ability to build trust and rapport with young people while maintaining professional boundaries
Flexibility to support students both in 1:1 settings and group environments
A passion for working with pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
Immediate availability and commitment to working full-time
